Don't purchase this item. I purchased it for my husband for Father's day. When it came, it wouldn't start, called the company and they gave us a local repr for repair. He stated it would cost more than it is worth to fix it so I sent it back. Know I have to deal with Amazon, to get my money back which I doubt I will never get because of their return policy. Very discouraged and felt Amazon purchased rejects from Weed Eater to dump on their customers. Weed Eater WT 3100 is the best weed eater I have ever used. No more sore back and arms. This is my second one I bought.

I bought a refurbished Weed Eater. After a minor problem with the pull start Ive been able to beat a path anywhere on my place. This product is highly recommended for persons with back problems, since you can roll the device to the work and so is no strain on the back or sholder areas.Persons with heart problems can get back out in the yard and easily handle the weeds

I have 3 acres and alot of little nooks and crannies to weed eat, I hate it my back would be sore for days after trimming. With this wheeled trimmer I am done trimming in just 30 minutes and I didn't break a string. This is awesome.

This unit does everything advertised. Started on second pull, right out of the box. Be very, very careful.....eye protection is a must and avoid getting off balance..... but when used according to the instructions, I found that it will cut through the tallest overgrown grass and weeds. Much easier to use than my conventional gas string stringer.... and that's the problem: I can see how a careless operator could end up getting hurt by flying debris . Just don't be stupid, follow the directions and it will do the job. My neighbor has the $600 DR string mower and this unit will just about do anything his will do at about 1/3 the cost. Complaint: Manufacturer requires use of their own branded synthetic oil.... that just b.s. I think ---even other synthetic 2 cycle oils are not allowed. So in your economic evaulation include the cost of this expensive, hard to find oil. Otherwise.... a great tool.... but use with caution.
